Inspirational film-makers needed for Skate Group Film
Offshoot Films from Suffolk have been given a grant from Essex County Council Arts Development Department to produce a film with the Skate Group. We met them today (22nd Dec) and they outlined the ideas behind the project.
They want us to produce 6 – 10 short films, which then will be transferred to QR logos, which will be put up around the town and the films can then be accessed via the logos by smart phones. The logos will lead the person on a trail and at the end of which there will be a chance of winning a prize, possibly by interpreting clues included in the films.
The QR logos are also being put up in 5 other towns, including Colchester, Braintree, Maldon and Harwich so that the film must be relevant to these towns as well and not just centred on Saffron Walden.
There should be a tie-in with the Olympics or sport or the Giant’s visit to the town but the Olympic logo cannot be used.
The films should be interesting for all age groups.
We can add music to the film, possibly by local musicians or bands.
The finished film will be put on various web-sites, including the ECC Cultural Olympic web-site.
Deadline for the finished project is the end of March 2012.
